Mazda Toyota Groundbreaking Event Wins Regional PR Award

The McComm Group received a Lantern Award for the 2018 Mazda Toyota groundbreaking event. The Southern Public Relations Federation (SPRF) presented its annual Lantern Awards to recognize outstanding work in the field of public relations at its professional development conference. SPRF is a network of more than 1,400 public relations professionals from Alabama, north Florida, Louisiana and Mississippi.

Entries in the Lantern competition are judged on their individual merit by PR practitioners outside SPRF’s four-state region; judges consider how a project incorporates research, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

In evaluating McComm’s entry in the short-term event category, one judge commented, “Tremendous creativity led to very impressive media coverage across print, digital and broadcast.”

Another judge noted, “They delivered a world-class event. Campaign implementation was creative and utilized some out-of-the box thinking. For example, utilizing the industrial robot to perform the official groundbreaking was a unique, memorable aspect of the event.”
