Decatur, AL – The McComm Group, a full-service marketing communications firm, welcomes Phil Schmidt to the team as a brand manager. He will be responsible for communicating with customers and shepherding projects from beginning through completion.
McComm Group President Joel McWhorter explained, “Phil has a broad range of experience, including championing client brands for nearly 16 years at a video production company in our area. He helped invent and deliver hundreds of successful advertising campaigns.”
In one assignment, the State of Alabama two-year college system needed to jump-start enrollment in free general education diploma (G.E.D.) classes. Schmidt was the catalyst for the “Text My GED” TV, radio, billboard and web campaign. It delivered results in Alabama that caught the attention of college leaders in Georgia and Kentucky. They quickly ordered “Text MY GED” campaigns, tailored to reach two million unemployed adults in those states who would benefit from free G.E.D. classes.
