What Is All The Fuss About Responsive Sites?

Did you know that one in four teens uses the cellphone as the primary way of accessing the internet? How about that a Pew Research Center survey revealed that 29% of college grads said they had smart tablets? What does this mean? I’m glad you asked. Increasingly, we are connecting to the internet in non-traditional ways by using smart devices on the go. We like being unchained to our desktops… and who doesn’t? These numbers are only going to grow so perhaps it’s time to rethink and re-tool your company’s web site. Take for instance, the latest launch from the McComm Group – http://www.funsol.com/. Talk about on the go – these guys travel from coast to coast helping chambers, cities and organizations raise some serious funds. Who better to have a “responsive” web site than Funding Solutions? A responsive site is one where, regardless of the device being used for access, the content is always displaying in an easy-to-read and, therefore, easy-to-navigate format. Not sure if your site is responsive? From your desktop, minimize your web page’s width by grabbing the lower right corner of your browser’s window.  Did the fonts change size? Did the buttons re-align and stack or did they disappear only to be accessed by scrolling? On a small screen, without this responsiveness, web sites can get rather annoying, allowing customers to drift away. Got questions? Give us a call.
